I know what to do

So when I hear this statement “I know what I need to do to get in shape”… I cringe.

I cringe because of the herculean effort that is often embedded in those words. Crossfit workouts 5 days per week, plus keto diet plus no sugar plus… whatever else sounds like no fun at all to me.

And here is how I know that it doesn’t sound fun to the person talking to me.

It is BECAUSE They ain’t doing it NOW. And if it were fun for them, they wouldn’t put it down.

If it were rewarding to do and produced great results they would already be at the promised land and they would just keep getting in better and better shape.

Which is what I want for my friends, family, and clients. So how do we do that?

We update the operating system. We use new data, new strategies, and tactics to get to where we want to go. For example:

You might get great fat-loss results from running 10 miles per day. Yet empirically we know this is not necessary. For brain and heart health, 20 minutes of conditioning every other day yields outsized benefits.

Which is easier to perform each week? For months and years on end?

Let’s talk diet next.

Instead of cutting alcohol, sugar, chocolate, and love out of your life forever… what if we played a different game?

What if you had two palms of protein with each meal for 3 meals per day and you had a glass of wine or beer with dinner.

SAY WHAT!?!

Which one is easier to sustain for years on end? Ask the people on my success stories page if they had to give up alcohol, or chocolate… and the answer is a resounding NOPE!

So if you’re trying to follow an old plan that isn’t working, I would have you consider updating your system and seeing if some new strategies won’t work for you.

To your success.
